Understanding Bans
This Page will help you understand how Bans work in COD.
Shadow Bans (SB)
A shadow ban can occur when you either get reported a lot or when you first play on an account (this isn't common but can happen). Shadow bans will make it harder to find lobbies (longer queue time), raise your ping significantly, and make your enemies people that have also been shadow banned. Don't worry if you get shadow banned, a shadow ban is completely harmless after the first 24 hours of your shadow, there has been a ton of shadow bans that happen for absolutely no reason with the release of MWII. - Shadow bans will last between 1 day and 14 days. You can check the actual status of your account here.
Disconnect (DC) Shadow Bans
A disconnect can occur when your account has a low "trust factor" or you receive too many reports, just like CSGO, trust factor is important in MWII. To make sure you have a high trust factor, make sure your account has both a valid phone number and email (both of which you own), a high amount of play time (e.g. 2 hours of gameplay daily for 2 weeks is typically enough), and a legit playstyle (e.g. avoiding to look suspicious. Yes, even when you don't have any spectators).
Temporary Bans
A temporary ban can occur when you either use an unlocker and use items that are risky (e.g. unreleased operators, blueprints, camos, and high level ranked rewards) or you abuse a glitch/bug in the game. A temporary ban will typically last from 1 day - 30 days. During this waiting time, you can make a new account, following the above-stated ways to raise your trust factor, and grind that account to the point where you don't get shadowed from only a few reports. When you receive a temporary ban, it will show as a permanent ban even if it isn't. You can check the actual status of your account here.
Permanent and HWID Bans
These are the worst case scenario bans with no way to recover the banned account. Should you receive a permanent ban, the safest procedure is to use a spoofer and make a new account. A HWID ban most commonly occurs in those who use cheats (e.g. aimbot, esp, movement manipulators, radar, etc.). The only way around these are by purchasing a spoofer (found here) and play on a new account.
